Calcium Silicate Insulation

When exceptional strength and durability are required along with low thermal conductivity, Johns Manville’s calcium silicate products are the clear answer. Available in a large selection of sizes and forms, calcium silicate can fit many applications.

Water resistant, type I calcium silicate insulation with XOX Corrosion Inhibitor® (Service Temp: up to 1200°F)

Thermo-1200® is a high temperature, water resistant* Type I calcium silicate designed to inhibit water absorption. In the event of a typical rainstorm  water will bead on the surface of the insulation without penetrating into the substrate. This will allow contractors some additional time to install the insulation without immediately applying the jacketing afterward, offering more time and flexibility in the installation process than has traditionally been available. Additionally, Thermo-1200 contains XOX Corrosion Inhibitor®, a proprietary corrosion inhibiting formula that helps inhibit corrosion under insulation (CUI).

Thermo-1200 is available in pipe, block, and curved segments. It is inorganic, non-combustible, asbestos-free, and it meets or exceeds the physical and thermal property requirements of ASTM C533, Type 1. It can be used in systems with operating temperatures that range from ambient up to 1200°F (650°C).

HP BLOCK® is a water-resistant, Type IA calcium silicate block insulation, designed for applications that operate at temperatures up to 1200°F (650°C).

HP BLOCK® is a cementitious insulation with exceptional compressive strength (>200 psi/1379kPa), making it ideal for applications where mechanical abuse is likely. The inorganic binder will hold its shape and maintain the physical integrity of the insulation, even past 450°F, the point at which most organic binders burn off. HP BLOCK® is a water-resistant, Type IA calcium silicate block insulation, designed for applications that operate at temperatures up to 1200°F (650°C).
